GAA/Ireland 2016 centenary special event, Croke Park

Optional: Delegates are invited by the GAA to attend the Division 1 Football Final in Croke Park commencing at 3.30pm.

The Final will be followed by a Pageant and Firework display to highlight the history of Ireland. In addition the Willis Family from Nashville will be invited to perform during half time at the match.

In conjunction with the Allianz League Division One and Two finals on the exact 100th anniversary (April 24th) of the 1916 Rising, the association plans to invite representatives from every GAA club in the country for a celebratory event that will reflect the role of the GAA in the revolution and in modern Ireland.

The show, which will take place after the Division One and Two Allianz Football League finals, will present the story of Ireland in a theatrical production that will include the best elements of the Irish cultural entertainment.

It will also highlight the role of Gaelic games and the GAA in the story of Ireland from the earliest days through to the revolutionary period and right up to the present day placing a strong emphasis on the national and international imprint of the Association.
